2. Basic Requirements for Erecting Scaffolding
1. When the design load of a standard (Type B) upright exceeds 40 kN, or the design load of a heavy-duty (Type Z) upright exceeds 65 kN, the step spacing on the top level of the scaffolding shall be reduced by 0.5 m compared to the standard step spacing.
2. The height-to-width ratio of a freestanding support frame shall not exceed 3. If the height-to-width ratio exceeds 3, the frame shall be rigidly connected to an existing structure or additional anti-overturning measures shall be implemented.
3.Upper and lower tier vertical posts of the support frame should be aligned, and two tiers of bracing should be retained.
4.Horizontal members of the support frame shall be installed continuously along the longitudinal and transverse directions at the specified bay spacing and shall be connected to adjacent vertical posts.
3. Adjustable Braces:
The length of the adjustable brace inserted into the upright shall not be less than 150 mm; the exposed length of the threaded rod shall not exceed 400 mm; and the cantilevered length of the adjustable brace extending beyond the top horizontal member shall not exceed 650 mm.

4. Adjustable Base
The length of the threaded rod on the adjustable base of the support frame that is inserted into the upright must be no less than 150 mm; the exposed length of the threaded rod should not exceed 300 mm; and the distance from the centerline of the lowest horizontal brace to the bottom plate of the adjustable base should not exceed 550 mm.

5. Diagonal Braces
For support frames with a standard bay spacing of 1.5 m, vertical diagonal braces shall be arranged based on the erection height of the support frame, its model, and the design value of the axial force in the upright. The arrangement of vertical diagonal braces shall comply with the requirements specified in the table. When the erection height of the support frame exceeds 16 m, diagonal braces shall be installed in every bay within the top-most bay spacing.

6. When the height of the scaffolding exceeds 8 m and there are existing building structures in the vicinity, reliable tie-ins to the surrounding existing structures shall be provided at intervals of 4 to 6 standard bay lengths along the height.
7. It is recommended to install horizontal safety netting at full coverage intervals of 3 m to 4 m to effectively prevent falls from height. Horizontal diagonal braces shall be installed at intervals of 4 to 6 standard bay lengths along the height of the scaffolding and shall comply with industry standards.
8. After installing the adjustable bases and adjustable supports, the outer surface of the upright should fit snugly against the adjustable nut; the difference between the outer diameter of the upright and the inner diameter of the nut's stepped section should not exceed 2 mm.
9. After installing the horizontal and diagonal tie rods, randomly selected pins should be tested by striking them with a hammer. The test is considered if the sinkage under continuous hammering does not exceed 3 mm and the pin cannot be pulled out after self-locking.
