What is the diameter of scaffolding pipes
Nov 20, 2025| The diameter of scaffolding pipes is generally 1.2~1.8m for longitudinal spacing and 0.9~1.5m for transverse spacing.
1. Scaffolding steel pipes come in many specifications. According to diameter, they are divided into φ3.0, φ2.75, φ3.25, and φ2.5. Lengths also vary, ranging from 1 to 6 meters per half-meter. Custom sizes are available upon request. Thickness is generally 2.4-2.7 mm, and diameter is 48 mm.
2. The joints of scaffolding uprights and horizontal members must be staggered. The joints of steel pipe scissor bracing must overlap, with an overlap length of no less than 40cm. Connections of scaffolding members must strictly follow regulations. The torque of scaffolding couplers should be controlled between 4.5 and 5 kg/m. Each top brace and upright must have at least three binding points.
3. There are generally two types of steel pipes used for erecting scaffolding: one with an outer diameter of 48mm and a wall thickness of 3.5mm, and the other with an outer diameter of 51mm and a wall thickness of 3mm. Scaffolding refers to various supports erected on construction sites to facilitate worker operations and solve vertical and horizontal transportation.
