Construction Methods for Aluminum Formwork Support Systems

                                                            I. Basic Requirements


The standard floor-to-ceiling height for this project is 3.0 meters, and tool-type steel props shall be used for formwork support. Their erection must comply with the requirements of the *Technical Specifications for Safety of Construction Formwork* (JGJ162-2008).

                                                          II. Acceptance Requirements


Before erecting the formwork support system, layout lines must be marked according to the plan, and a sample unit must be constructed. Once the formwork has been erected in sections or as a whole, a section-by-section or overall acceptance inspection must be conducted under the supervision of the project's safety and quality managers (with the supervision engineer in attendance). Reinforcement installation and concrete pouring may only proceed after the work has passed the acceptance inspection.

 

                                             III. Safety Requirements for Construction


When erecting formwork, a work ladder must be set up at the construction site; workers must not climb up or down the support system. During formwork erection, removal, and concrete pouring, unauthorized personnel must not enter the area beneath the formwork, and a safety officer must supervise the site.

 

Concrete work for the upper floor slab may only proceed once the concrete strength of the lower floor slab structure is sufficient to support the weight of the upper formwork, the support system, and the newly poured concrete (as determined by the strength of the concrete test specimens taken upon formwork removal). Otherwise, the support system for the lower floor slab structure must not be removed, and the support columns of the upper and lower floors must be aligned vertically. During installation, temporary securing measures must be put in place for the formwork and its support system to strictly prevent overturning.

 

Before installing tie rods, wall formwork must be tilted inward at a certain angle and securely braced to prevent collapse. When erecting formwork for freestanding columns and beams over 4.5 meters in height, a work platform must be erected; for structures under 4.5 meters, a stepladder may be used. It is strictly prohibited to stand on column formwork or walk on the bottom formwork of beams, and climbing up or down using tie rods or supports is strictly forbidden. During erection, it is strictly prohibited to stack reinforcing bars, machinery, equipment, or other materials in concentrated, overloaded piles to prevent falling objects and localized collapse of the support system.

Quality Standards
(1) Prior to the initial installation of aluminum formwork, all fabricated and purchased components and materials must undergo a comprehensive inspection and acceptance. The inspection and acceptance process includes: inspection of raw materials, structural dimensions of components, inspection of welds, and functional testing of support members and mating parts. Use is permitted only after confirmation that all requirements are met in accordance with the design specifications.
(2) Joints between formwork panels must be within 1 mm, and all joints must be filled with putty. (3) Unevenness at panel joints shall not exceed 2 mm.
(4) The planar flatness of the formwork, as checked with a 2-meter straightedge, shall not exceed 3 mm.
(5) The allowable deviation for height on the support surface is ±5 mm.
(6) The allowable deviation for axis displacement is ±5 mm.
(7) Cross-sectional dimensions: ±2 mm.
(8) Maximum deflection of the formwork truss: 7 mm.
(9) During formwork removal, movement, assembly, and alignment, close observation and careful operation are required to prevent impacts, friction, or pulling (or pushing) that could crack the concrete of the wall being demolded, resulting in defects such as chips, scuff marks, or cracks.
